I know i haven't posted here in a while and I thought I'd do so with something I think we can all appreciate. The written word. There are just passages that hit us, either their lyrical nature or their voice, style or whatever. They're just cool. I was inspired by the following passage, which I read in a weird listicle about famous people in history with STD's. This is from James Boswell, a biographer. I just think the way he writes it is nothing short of amazing. Talking about sex with a prostitute (he also used an animal gut condom).
At the bottom of the Haymarket I picked up a strong, jolly young damsel, and taking her under the arm I conducted her to Westminster Bridge, and then in armour complete did I engage her upon this noble edifice. The whim of doing it there with the Thames rolling below us amused me much.
